History of our Winery
Covilor winery is set up in1955, under the nameCooperative Agricultural "Virgen del Loreto". The building bought by the partners founders of COVILOR to a family of the village, continues being the placement of the winery, that can be considered like a model of industrial architecture of the time - caravista brick, concrete and steel that lodge the fermentation deposits.
In one of its sides its remarkable a natural stone relief and that represents a worker pushing the winch of a press, synonymous of the spirit of the company; but also the religious mosaics of the Virgin of Loreto and the one of the store of the wine are noticeble. Their facilities in the street Antonio Bartual are located in Las Cuevas.
In the following years they are gotten up new partners, until summing up the totality of the grape growers of thewhole village. They have acquired adjacent lands, making successive extensions to modernize the facilities and to extend its winery extensions.It is, however, outstanding its partner's innovation regarding winery facilities. It was the first winery in Spain, in the 60's, to install a complex equipment of accelerated vinification.
Our Cooperative was one of the main wineries in the region in the installation of equipment of controlled fermentation, elaborating rosé of great quality.
Wiine was bottled AÑAL rosé, was awarded in 1995 with
Golden medall by Acadèmia del Vi del Regne de València.
